Information on how the Library supports accessibility and inclusivity.

Assistive Technology (AT) spaces

You will find an Assistive Technology (AT) space in each library at City St George's. These spaces have computers with a range of assistive software packages, equipment and adaptive furniture.

If you feel you are eligible to use these spaces, contact the appropriate support service based on your campus: Student Health and Wellbeing for Clerkenwell and Moorgate, or Disability Services for Tooting.

Book an Assistive Technology Room

The Assistive Technology Centre (ATC) at Northampton Square Library has a range of assistive software packages, equipment and adaptive furniture. There are three individual bookable rooms and three drop-in spaces with pcs.

Use a drop-in space

You can use a pc or study space in the communal ATC drop-in area. There are three pc spaces available and two study desks. You do not need to book ahead to use these spaces.

Book an individual Assistive Technology Room at Northampton Square

You can book a room for up to four hours per day. There are three individual rooms available.

The Assistive Technology Room (ATR) at the Law Library makes available a range of assistive software packages, equipment and adaptive furniture. There is one bookable room with capacity for one person.

Law ATR directions

The ATR is in the Law Library Level 1.

  • If you are taking the stairs to the Library turn left from the Library lobby area and the ATR is straight ahead. 
  • By lift, the lift will arrive inside the Library. Exit the Library and you will find the ATR on your right-hand side.
  • The automatically opening door to the Assistive Technology Room will open when you tap your City ID card on the reader. 

Booking the Law ATR

You can book up to four hours per day.

There are two Assistive Technology Computers at the Business Library. The computers are in the open area at the entrance of Room 1002.

You do not need to book to use these computers.

The Assistive Technology Room (ATR) at the St George's Library (Tooting Campus) makes available a range of assistive software packages, equipment and adaptive furniture. There is one bookable room with capacity for one person.

St George's (Tooting Campus) ATR directions

The ATR is located in the Group Study Zone inside St George's Library, located on Level 1, Hunter Wing.

  • Enter the Library and go through the gates by the Help Desk
  • Turn right when you see Blossom the cow
  • Walk straight through the Group Study area
  • Pass the water fountain on your right
  • After the first set of bookshelves, look left for orange group study tables
  • Turn left toward the round tables
  • Behind the round tables are four rooms:
    • The three rooms on the right (by the window) are Group Study Rooms
    • The room on the left (furthest from the window) is the ATR

You can book up to four hours per day, and a maximum of 12 hours a day.

Terms and conditions

  • If you are more than 15 minutes late your booking may be cancelled and allocated to another user.  
  • Do not leave your belongings unattended.  
  • Leave the space neat and tidy for the next users.  
  • The AT spaces at Law and Northampton Square are available only to students with ID cards set with access permission. Access must be agreed in your Student Support Plan by the Student Health and Wellbeing Team.  
  • The AT Room at St George’s Library Tooting and the AT computers at the Business Library can be accessed by all students who would benefit from their use but are only bookable by students who have a referral from the Disability Services or Student Health and Wellbeing. 
  • External visitors without City St George's ID cards are not permitted access, as per the Library Charter.
