Whilst databases should be used to find research articles for a literature review or for a dissertation, there are a number of resources available if you only need a summary of the latest evidence relating to a particular topic you are researching.

TRIP Pro

A clinical search engine providing access to research evidence in the form of primary research articles, clinical trials, systematic reviews and evidence summaries. Grey literature is also available.

BestBETS
Provides access to current evidence on a wide range of clinical topics.
Epistemonikos
Epistemonikos is a collaborative, multilingual database of health evidence. It is the largest source of systematic reviews relevant for health-decision making, and a large source of other types of scientific evidence.

Ask TRIP
AskTrip is an AI-powered clinical question-answering system built on the trusted foundation of the Trip Database. It delivers evidence-based answers to clinical questions in 30 seconds, drawing from Trip’s extensive search index to ensure the most current and relevant information.

MSD Manual
The MSD Manuals are a comprehensive medical information source covering thousands of topics in all fields of medicine. They are offered as a free public service to health care professionals and the general public.
NICE Clinical Knowledge Summaries
Provides information about various health conditions including: causes, prevalence, how to diagnose and manage.

Cochrane: Our Evidence
Provides plain language summaries of evidence available from the Cochrane Library.
NIHR Evidence
Select the most important findings from research studies and make them easy to read.

BMJ Blogs
Provide insights and opinion on the latest developments, research findings and news across a variety of medical specialties.
National Elf service
Provides blogs covering the latest evidence in: -Commissioning -Education -Learning Disabilities -Mental Health -Musculoskeletal -Social Care
